CrossFit Open 17.2

March 3, 2017

17.2 is finally here!

AMRAP12
2 rounds of:

50-ft. weighted walking lunge
16 toes-to-bars
8 power cleans

Then, 2 rounds of:
50-ft. weighted walking lunge
16 bar muscle-ups
8 power cleans
Etc., alternating between toes-to-bars and bar muscle-ups every 2 rounds.

Women use 35-lb. dumbbells

Men use 50- lb dumbbells

Initial thoughts. If you have been training year round for the open the lunge will not be a limiting factor. It will slow you down enough.

Grip and muscular endurance for TTB and BMU will be your biggest limiting factor. The name of the game is no missed reps. Ensure you pick a rep scheme that allows you to do just that. Fast BMU singles is better than trying to do a triple, missing the third rep and then having to wait even longer to go again.

If you mess up racking the dumbbells you will place a lot of undue stress on your grip, lats and shoulders. Try placing the dumbbells vertical and allow them to rest on your traps with the heads of the dumbbells touching behind your head. This way you will have minimum input with your grip.
